The newly announced Gigabyte Aivia Xenon dual mode touchpad mouse also functions as a portable touchpad that supports multi-touch gestures. So when it’s not being employed as a mouse, users can wield it as a remote while making presentations.
Just loading the peripheral with a pair of AAA batteries and turning it on via the power button ensures that it’s good to go. It will be set in the mouse mode by default. Users can swiftly toggle between the touchpad and mouse mode by clicking on the button fitted onto the side of the chassis. When in the touchpad mode, the Gigabyte device can be operated with simple gestures courtesy of built-in Gigabyte Free-Scrolling technology.
By moving two fingers in a left to right direction in the operable zone, users can turn from one page to the next. There’s also the option to customize these gestures via the integrated Aivia Xenon technology. Another interesting feature is the Aivia Painter software that helps to paint on or mark up any document. This facility can be only activated once the device is installed with Xenon software.
Furthermore, the device can function within a 10m radius that offers users a bit of room while moving around and making presentations. The 95mm x 55mm x 19mm gadget weighs merely 68g and it can be picked up drenched in shiny black. Along with 1000DPI resolution, it features a USB interface and a laser tracking system. Apart from the Windows 98 and 2000 platforms, it is compatible with the Windows XP, Vista and 7 OS.
The Gigabyte Aivia Xenon dual mode touchpad mouse price and release date are still under wraps.
