The professional-grade Plextor M5 Pro SSD is capable of delivering read and write speeds of up to 540Mbps and 450Mbps, respectively. Apart from this, it is equipped with the latest 3rd generation Marvell 88SS9187 controller.
One of the major highlights of this SSD is the enterprise-grade double-data protection technology. The 128-bit error correction system fitted within the Marvell controller enables it to automatically verify and correct the accuracy of the data accessed from the flash memory. And bringing it to the next level is a second round of read protection that’s taken care of by the incorporated data hold-out algorithm.
“The M5 Pro is the next step in the evolution of the SSD combining high speed, drive reliability, and data-level protection,” commented Minnie Lin, Marketing Manager, Plextor. “In recent years, Plextor has been able to develop SSDs that deliver high real-world performance and sustained speed over the long-term. Our SSDs have the lowest annual failure rate in the consumer SSD industry. Now with the M5 Pro, we aim to use Plextor’s abilities to offer extreme data protection and give users total confidence in every single aspect of their drive.”
There is also the built-in True Speed technology that aims at preventing drops in the drive’s overall performance level caused mainly due to continuous usage over time. As per the company’s claim, the SSD is capable of overcoming high workloads through the multi-core controller. Owing to this, it can be deployed in workstations, raid configurations and even servers.
The Plextor M5 Pro SSD price is still under wraps. Starting mid-August, it will be up for grabs in capacities of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB along with a five-year warranty.
