At the Cinema India Expo 2012, the Panasonic PT-DZ21K projector series and a new portrait mode capability were announced. Through the added feature, the audience will be able to view upright images the way they’re meant to be seen.
On the visual front, the flagship model displays content in a resolution of 1920 x 1200p, an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a contrast ratio of 10000:1. It claims to offer 20,000lm of brightness with beefed up attributes such as geometric adjustment and multi-screen support, in spite of its compact form. To complement the aforementioned highlights, it is equipped with Edge Blending and Multi-Unit Brightness Control that should improve the quality of projected images.
Apart from a lamp replacement cycle of roughly 2,000 hours, it offers 3D compatibility. Employing this feature, users can experience the fun of watching movies on a wider screen in 3D. Resting beneath the hood is the 3-chip DLP system that runs the show. With respect to energy consumption, the device uses approximately 2,300W of power. However, it varies depending on the mode to which it is set. In the Standby Mode, it consumes 0.3W of energy.
Squeezing into a 620mm x 291mm x 800mm chassis, the projector weighs approximately 50kg. For the desired results, users can even opt for either powered zoom or fixed-focus lenses. Then there is the System Daylight View 2 that adjusts the color perception to do away with the need of switching off the lights while viewing projected content. In addition to sharpness control, it offers digital noise reduction technology that caters to minimizing noise.
The Panasonic PT-DZ21K projector series price and availability details for India are not clear as of now.
