Following the launch of the new Fonepad 8 voice calling tablet, the Asus EeeBook X205TA laptop has also been released in India. And it’s retailing for a very attractive price of Rs 14999 which makes it one of the most affordable Windows powered options on the market.
The Asus EeeBook X205TA basically comes with hardware similar to what you’d find on Windows 8.1 tablets. But instead of a docking design which can be a hassle and have many flaws, it offers a complete notebook experience. You get an 11.6-inch HD display and a VGA webcam under the lid, while the bottom half features a full-size keyboard and a touchpad.
Asus is offering a wide range of connectivity features including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless needs, while wired options comprise of two USB 2.0 ports and a micro HDMI port. On the inside, there’s the widely popular Intel Atom Z3735 quad core processor doing the heavy lifting.

There isn’t much in the memory department as you only get 2GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a mciroSDXC card slot. The EeeBook X205TA laptop is pretty light, weighing less than 1kg and it’s just about 0.7 inches thick. The main highlight here is that the notebook can deliver up to 12 hours of battery life which is impressive.
