Asus India has launched the Fonepad 7 FE170CG which has gone on sale for an affordable price of just Rs 8999. The tablet is a voice calling one like the others in the series, but it tags along toned down specs in order to reduce the overall cost.
The latest Asus Fonepad 7 is the third variant to hit the market and there’s another refresh as well, featuring the latest processors from Intel. But there’s no word on when it’ll reach India. The FE170CG model is a bit different from its predecessors where design is concerned. It drops the industrial look for a simple appearance with alluring colors.
The screen size has remained untouched, but the bezels are narrower than before. Also, visuals are now in 1024 x 600p resolution and not HD. Previous versions arrived with 1.6GHz dual core Intel processors, but the new one has a 1.2GHz dual core Atom Clover Trail+ chipset. And while 3G connectivity has been retained, the memory provisions have been altered as well.

The internal storage is down to 4GB and an entire gigabyte of RAM is provided for smooth operations. On the upside, the microSD card slot will allow you to thrown in an additional 64GB. There are dual cameras as well, a VGA snapper on the front and a 2MP shooter on the rear.
