Asus has introduced the Asus Transformer P1801 in India approximately a month after the All-in-One PC was set to launch in the US, while the hybrid has been nailed with a price of Rs 86,999. This retail tag applies to the unit packing the third generation Intel Core i3 processor, whereas the Core i5-equipped model will demand an amount of Rs 92,999.
So what makes the Asus Transformer P1801 jaw-dropping according to the company? We have seen a flurry of tablet-cum-PCs, but what sets this hybrid apart from the rest is its ability to support dual OS. Offering the advantages of Windows 8 in the computer mode, the convertible runs Android Jelly Bean whilst serving as a slate.
Naturally, in such a scenario it’s wise to not look forward to a feather-weight slab. Although the device offers the best of both worlds with Windows-Android combination, it is not exactly an apt companion to toss in one’s bag and ride to work. Partly owing to its king-size 18.4-inch LED backlight multi-touch display, the convertible ends up weighing 2.4 kgs.
As we mentioned earlier, the multitasking business on the main desktop is taken care of by the third generation Intel Core processors, though the tablet can be seen concealing a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset. Individually the slate proffers 32GB of onboard memory and users should be able to enjoy storing up to 2TB on the PC.
Since the Asus Transformer P1801 shows off such a steep price tag, it will most likely not end up in the shopping carts of those looking for exceptional integrated cameras. People who do purchase it anyway will find a 1MP snapper embedded onto the front of the slab. Additionally, the SonicMaster audio feature should toil towards delivering users with a rich feel while enjoying multimedia content.
