iBall is known for its super affordable Android tablets, but never did we expect it to create a Windows slate that’s priced under Rs 5000. Its latest launch is the Slide i701 which runs on the Windows 8.1 desktop OS and it’s being touted as the cheapest option on the market right now.
The iBall Slide i701 is no mere affordable slate as it comes with some pretty good hardware on the inside. Considering its retail tag, we certainly wouldn’t expect an HD display and a quad core Intel Atom processor. But surprisingly, these are precisely what the device offer. The screen spans 7 inches wide and is an IPS panel, but we have no word about its exact resolution.
And while there’s no mention of the processor model, we’re pretty sure it’s from the Bay Trail lineup. As for memory, a mere 1GB of RAM is supplied along with 16GB of storage out of which, a good portion will be occupied by the Windows OS. There’s a microSD card slot too, and it support up to 32GB.

Like with all Windows tablets, Microsoft is bundling the Slide i701 with 1TB of free OneDrive cloud storage and an Office 360 subscription for an entire year. If these aren’t enough, there’s also a guaranteed update to Windows 10 which is scheduled for release in the coming months.
iBall Slide i701 specs:
– Windows 8.1
– Intel Atom quad core processor
– 1GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage
– 7-inch HD display
– VGA front camera, 2MP rear shooter
– 3200mAh battery
The iBall Slide i701 goes on sale from tomorrow through ecommerce websites and retail stores across the country. It’s being bundled with free goodies such as an HDMI cable and interchangeable protective covers.
Looks solid device at this price point.
